After heartbreak

Roy ran to the park. He ran to the most desolate corner, that housed only trees and no people. He didn't want to go to the camp at the moment. He saw a tree he could climb in. He climbed in the tree and sat in the nook of the branch. He pulled his knees close to his chest. He wanted to cry, but bit his lip so he wouldn't. He clenched his fists trying to think about something else. He felt a tear crawl down his cheek, and started to cry. 'Who knew loving a woman could hurt this much.'

Rogue was walking around with Karim, hoping the dog would find his owner's scent and lead them to him. She needed to return the dog before Pietro's learning date.

Karim gave a growling bark before heading off in the direction of the park, towards a certain tree. Rogue followed behind quickly, stopping abruptly when the dog circled a single tree and barked.

He heard barking, and looked up. He wiped the tears from his face and put his mask on. He looked down seeing Karim jump up against the tree. "How did you get here?" He asked jumping down from the tree. He knelt down to pet the dog. "Did you run off from Rogue?"

Rogue put her hands on her hip, shifting most of her weight to one hand, "Can'cha see I'm stanin' right here?" Her southern twang making the semi-serious statement sound perfectly adorable.

He glanced at Rogue and sat down, his back against the tree. He smiled up at Rogue. "Sorry. I saw you there, I was just talking to him." Karim lifted his hand with his snout and wanted petting. Roy started to scratch Karim from behind his ear and Karim laid down on top of Roys legs, enjoying the scratching. "Was he a good boy?" Roy asked looking at Rogue now.

Rogue smiled at how the owner and his canine acted around each other, "He was great. Though, I just wished I could have actually touched him." She said the last part a little more whimsically then usual, but she also remembers the collar she wore did restrict her powers... did that mean she could, actually touch the dog without harming either of them?

He smiled saddly. "Thank you for taking care of him. If you ever want him around to play with you, just ask. Though, I might be hard to find." He said smiling slightly.

"Red Arrow?" she asked slowly, "Would... would you mind if... I tried to pet Karim?" She said nervously, she wanted to test her theory... but she also wanted the man's approval before touching the dog, "I believe my collar should protect him from my power..."

He smiled slightly. "No I won't mind. Go ahead." He watched Rogue get closer to them, and kneel down. He smiled to her encouragingly. "It's allright."

Rogue knelt down in front of her dog, taking off her gloves. She slowly moved her hand over the dgos face and ears, scratching behind the dogs ear like she had seen Red Arrow do it. His fur was soft... She wondered in her head what other things she could touch.

Karim looked up at her, and rolled over on his back exposing his tummy. He just looked at her wanting her to scratch him there. Roy looked from Karim to Rogue. "See he is fine. Seems like your collar is working." He said touching her shoulder lightly.

Rogue moved her hand to his belly, rubbing in little circles. Rogue looked up at him, an excited expression on her face, "Wow... I've ne'er dun this before." Her excitedness bringing an even strong accent from the belle.

Roy smiled warmly at her excited face. "I'm happy for you." Roy started to scratch Karims side. The dog started to wag it's tail and kick with his hind leg. "I found Oliver." Roy said suddenly.

Rogue had looked back at the dog, blushing lightly at the fact she felt a little stupid. But she looked back up at him, a little shocked, "W-what? How was he?" she asked quickly, "Was he insane?"

Roy laughed. "When you have known him for as long as I have, you'd know he has always been insane." He said jokingly before he got serious again. "Though this time he seems to be completely sane. Like he has some kind of plan. All I know is that he asked me to trust him, and I do trust him." He looked at Rogue.

Rogue nodded, "Then we'll just have ta trust 'im, now won't we?" Rogue pushed herself into a standing position, cracking her knuckles. "So whatcha doing here all by yourself?"

He looked at the tree oposite to them, and spoke. "I went by your house to get Karim back, but saw this girl I've been kind of having some canoodeling with. She was having sex on the livingroom couch. That kinda stung so I came here." He looked at her. "I'm Roy by the way." He said extendingg his hand to her.

Rogue raised an eyebrow at the man's coice of words, "She... was having sexual relations on the living room couch in..." she paled slightly, making a note of not to sit down on the furniture.

"I'm Roy, by the way."

Rogue smiled towards him, "My name... is something not given out, but as a gesture of... trust I'll tell you, but I would like to keep this between you and me... and the select others that know, okay?"

He smiled nodding in understanding. "I'd like you to keep my name to yourself too. I trust you to use it right."

Rogue breathed out, "My name is Anna... Anna Marie." she said in a quiet voice, "and I'll be sure to keep your name as secret as my own." Rogue moved her white bangs out of her face before adjusting the cuffs on her sleeves.

Roy smiled. "That is a pretty name, I shall keep it locked up in here." He said pointing to his head.

Rogue flustered a bit, "Thank you." she giggled lightly after he pointed to his head, "Well.. I hope you feel better."

He smiled warmly to her. "I knew that playing with that certain cat might get me scratched, but I still took the risk. I'll get over it, don't worry." He got up, pushing Karim off of his legs. The dog rolled around on the ground and sat up. "I think we should get going boy." He looked at Rogue. "It was nice meeting again, and the best of luck to you my friend." He patted her shoulder lightly before heading into the woods with Karim, who was a bit hesitant to leave Rogue.

Rogue waved lightly at the retreat figures, "I'll see you later!"
