Bringing a Bat to the Medical Lab

Clark led Rogue and Bruce to the Medical Lab, his eyes landed on a still sleeping Kitty. He opened a cabinet that was against the wall and dug through it to pull out some pain killers. "Hopefully these are strong enough." He said and handed the tablets to Bruce. "Clark who's that?" Clark turned to see that Kitty had woken up and was looking at Bruce with a scared look on her face. "It's ok Kitty, Batman is a hero he just needed some painkillers." He said and walked over to her, "How are you feeling?" he asked with concern. Kitty shrugged, "I can't wait to get released." She said with a sad smile.

Batman took notice to the girl on the bed and nodded thankful before throwing the pills back, "Sorry, about that Superman. Usually I have a bottle of my own. Must have fallen when..." He let his voice trail off before looking at Kitty, "Hello, I'm Batman. And against popular belief I'm not the villain." He made a sickeningly cruel joke about Gotham City, who more often then not had a weird dislike for the man that saved their lives.

Rogue quickly moved to Kitty's side, trying not to touch her. Her gloves were off and her powers were not under control as much as she'd like, "Are you alright?" she asked worriedly.

She frowned in sympathy when he said that and then looked over at Rogue, she wondered why Rogue was avoiding her when she could touch her. "I'm ok, I've been better." She said with a strained smile. She slowly sat up and tried not to wince when a sore spot reacted, "So what's going on?" She asked.

Clark glanced over at Bruce when she asked that question, "Honestly not much, I was just going to check in on you today." He said with a forced smile. Kitty nodded slowly and Clark sat down on the seat next to her.

Batman let his shoulders fall, "Well I know Rogue has... something interesting to tell you." He looked behind him before leaning on a counter.

Rogue shot a glare at Batman before sighing, "The collar isn't controlling my powers. Batman got the force of it earlier. Except... it was weird this time. I received memories. I haven't done that... or at least remember doing it." She hoped that would explain why she wouldn't touch Kitty, "Also, I'm not sure what happened, but the Black Queen is... either moved on or she's building up strength. I haven't heard from her in a while."

Kitty bit her lip, "That doesn't sound good, The Black Queen was a strong telepath and if she's responsible for making your collar go haywire who knows what will happen next? I know you probably already are but keep your guard up as often as you can, and if it seems like she's about to take over your body....try and warn us." She said.

Clark frowned and put his chin in his hands, "Why would The Black Queen be using Rogue though?" He asked out loud, it bothered him that Rogue could be Black Queen's vessel.

Rogue chewed her mouth, "It's not the first time a telepathic has had control of my body. It was before Kitty was in the group. Took Xavier and Jean Gray to stop me. Well, her." she hissed out.

Batman raised an eyebrow, wondering what they were talking about.

Kitty ran a hand through her hair, "I wish we knew a way of how to get rid of her, but without a telepath we're pretty much stuck." She said quietly.

Clark sighed and then looked over at Rogue, "Can you tell when she's inside your mind?" He asked curiously.

"Well... yes and no. I can hear when they let themselves be know, or when they slip and make themselves known. But I do not have warning, which I wish my mind would have." She laughed dryly, thinking about it.

Batman started to think, "Well, why can't we make a device to tell us when? I mean the voice has its own seperated mind, which in turn has it's on mind waves. Say... we have a small portable device on her at all time its could beep loudly when Black Queen is doing something in her mind? Just a thought."

Kitty leaned back as she thought about it, "That's an idea, the only problem would be actually making something that could accomplish that. If we had Dr. Mccoy we might be able to whip up something but without him I don't if we can pull it off." She admitted.

Clark nodded in agreement with Kitty.

Batman raised another eye brow at Superman, "Well, Superman tends to forget how... Mechanic adapted I am. I could... make on in." He paused, "30 minutes to an hour? With the proper equipment station, of course." Batman wasn't trying show off, but if it was a direct piece of equipment he could make it.

Kitty bit back a smile at Clark's offended expression when Batman said that, "Well if you go to Cerebro, there's a work station there that you could use." She said, she bit her lip as she realized that none of them besides herself had ever been to Cerebro, "I'll take you." She said and started to get up.

Batman looked at Kitty, "Do you mind? I'd like to take a look."

Rogue took a step forward near Kitty.

Batman knew rogue knew that she'd need to be there, "Superman, is thee a place we can meet up when its done? Or are you coming with us?"

Kitty nodded and then looked up at Rogue, "Um I hate to ask but could you get me some of my clothes? I doubt anyone wants to see me in a hospital gown, they're not like really fashionable you know?" She said as she tried to lighten the mood.

Clark looked over at Batman and frowned he had the feeling that Batman wanted to ask him something, "Yeah I'm coming." He said with a slow smile.

Rogue nodded running to Kitty's room to fetch her clothing.

Batman knew Superman knew that he needed to talk to him. Batman moved his arm around, "So I'm guessing that Cerebro has all of the technology I'll need. Current and up to date, right?"

Kitty smiled up at him,"Yeah it keeps track of all the new hero's that come in so that way we can take them to the Mansion. The work station is constantly being updated with new items. I'm not exactly sure what's new or anything but it should have everything you need." She said.

Batman nodded his head pulling up a panel on his arm and started typing into it. He made a weird face before closing it, "My scans say--"

"That Rogue is back with clothing?" Rogue walked into the room with some of Kitty's costume, "Can't go wrong in a X-man suit!" She snorted handing them over to Kitty.

Kitty smiled, relieved that it wasn't anything she had worn when she had been around Lance, "I hope you guys don't mind leaving for a moment so I can change right?" She asked. Clark turned a beet red and then grabbed Batman's arm, "Oh yeah we'll be right outside." He said and towed Batman off.
