Laura walked outside, feeling the cold hit her fast, but she didn't care. She rather feel cold then warm without Adam. She walked to one of the trees, going to sit down by it. Laura couldn't help but break down and punch the tree, screaming in agony. She slid down the tree, crying out for Adam, "Come back to me!" She cried, punching the ground, "Come..back..to..me.."

This morning Pietro decided to get some more training in.


When he got there Laura was crying against a tree begging for her lost love.


Pietro went over to her and bent down by her. "Hey, how are you doing?" Pietro knew it was a stupid question but he didn't know what else say. The poor girl was grieving.

Why is it every time I try to be alone, people keep coming.

"How does it look like I'm doing?" She asked, being a bit bitter, before she broke down once again. The tears stinging in her eyes.

Pietro let her yell. She needed to vent. Pietro pulled Laura into his arms and held her. She was angry and wanted someone to take it out on. Right now he was the best choice. She didn't know him, and he had no connection to her boyfriend. He just wanted to help her.


"I know your hurting, but you can't let this control your life."

Laura jumped, feeling him hug her. She heard his words, feeling her face deform into sadness, hitting his chest, "WHY DID HE HAVE TO DIE!? WHY?! WHY!? WHY...WHY DO I HAVE TO BE ALONE AGAIN, WHY IS IT EVERY TIME I LOVE SOMEONE...THEY..they ..they either die or disappear.."

Pietro let her beat his chest.


"I don't know why those you love die or disappear. But if you want to hate someone hate the ones that put him in that arena. It was a death match, it was him or that Flash guy, and things just went wrong. It's the way of the world. But if you loved him as much as you seem to part of him will always be with you."


Pietro took her back into his arms for another hug.

Laura broke down into his chest, having no words to reply with, "I just want him back.."

"I know you do." Pietro whispered into her hair as he lowered himself and her to the ground. He gathered he into his lap and cradled her to his chest rocking her as she sobbed into him.

Laura cried on his chest, breaking down more each minute.

Pietro kissed her hair and laid his head against hers. He rubbed her back and continued to try to sooth her as best he could. In his past he had comforted grieving women with a night of no commitment sex, but since he was in a relationship with Artemis, his go to plan for comforting women was out, so he was at a bit of a lose as to what to do. So he just continued to try to sooth her as best he could.

Laura hit his chest, crying as she did, "Why him..why couldn't it have been someone else.."

Pietro let her hit him again, though he continued to hold her.


"I don't know why him, but if that's the question you have to ask, then it should be why us. Why any of us? Why were any of us, you, me, him, why were any of us brought to this hell?" Pietro was trying to get her past the anger stage of her grief, but that she would have to do herself.

Laura looked at him, her eyes widening a little, "What?"

"What?"

"We were all brought here against our will. If these Protectors that brought us here, if they hadn't brought us here then none of these deaths would have happened. You might have never met Music Mister but he would probable not have died if he wasn't here. What this comes down to is that all the good and bad things you have experienced since coming here can be blamed on them. You have to decide now if you remember the good or the bad. I know right now all you can think of is the bad but latter you will start remembering all the good times you had with him and you will be able to start to move forward, and your memories of him will help you."

Pietro rubbed her shoulders lightly.

Laura looked at him, feeling the tears slowly fade, but she was still hurting. She looked down, feeling herself break down once again, "I just..I don't want to forget him.."

"And you won't as long as you don't want to. But eventual you won't think about the pain as often , and then you will hear a song and smile because it reminds you of him, and you will remember the happiness you felt with him. And you have to remember that he wouldn't want you to destroy yourself over his death. He would want you to move on and be happy. I know that may seem impossible now but someday soon you will be able to move on."


Pietro stroked her hair and rubbed her back.

Laura looked at him, nodding at him, "Thank you, Pietro..Your a great friend." She said, hugging him once again.

Pietro smiled. "I try." Pietro whipped her tear strained face with his thumbs. He helped her to her feet. He kissed her forehead as he kept his hands on her cheeks.


"I know you hurt now, and I can't promise the pain will go away completely, but it will get better."

Laura kind of lowered her head, "Sorry, I don't want to get kissed.." She said, looking at him.

"Hey, no kiss," Pietro pulled his hands away from her face and smiled. "I've got a girlfriend, and I take relationships very seriously. That might not have been appropriate but my normal go to with grieving girls is physical comfort. I wasn't trying anything though, sorry."

"I meant anywhere.." She said, before looking down, "It's okay.."

"Ok, I get it." Pietro rubbed at her forehead (like how little kids rub kisses off of themselves) and grinned at her childishly.


He put his hand on her shoulders and smiled. "There all better."
