Back to the Darkness

Chloe must have fainted sometime during the dizzying journey because when she woke up she was across from a man she knew very well and they were both outside the Fortress. "Davis...what are you doing here?" She asked confused as she stared at him.

Clark slowly made his way to the Fortress and winced he saw Davis and Chloe, he remained hidden.

Davis stared down at her, "You have a choice to make Chloe, stay with me or have Brainiac inside of you." He said Chloe frowned, "Who's Brainiac?" She asked quietly. Davis moved to sit next to her, "The thing that's been taking away your memories Chloe, but I can make it stop." He said. Chloe bit her lip, she wanted to trust Davis but she felt like she was forgetting something that had happened earlier, "What happens if I go with you?" She asked. Davis smiled and it was a grim smile, "You come with me and I won't hurt your friends Chloe...or that man you love." He said that last word with disdain. Chloe bit her lip, "I don't have anyone I love Davis....but I can't let you hurt my friends." She said.

Clark frowned, he couldn't let Chloe make a choice that would do more harm then anything else, "Chloe don't do this, if you go with him Chloe he'll only cause you pain." He said, Chloe's eyes widened when she saw him, "Clark!" She called and got up to run to his side. Davis stood up with her, "Remember what I said Chloe." He said quietly and Chloe sagged before she turned on Davis, "I don't care what you say Davis....I would rather die then be with you." She snapped and backed up to join Clark. Davis glared at Chloe, "Whatever you say, just know I'll be back for you." He growled as his eyes turned a dark red and then he left. As soon as he was gone, Chloe hugged Clark, "I never thought I would see your friendly face again." She said quietly.
